The accident took place on Wednesday February 16, 2022, on the road linking Dongbaïkè to Abba, in the locality of Nana-Mambéré. At least 8 Russian mercenaries died in a road accident which occurred on Wednesday February 16 on the road linking the town of Baboua to that of “Abba”, in the Nana-Mambéré prefecture, in the north-west of the Central African Republic, we learned from local security sources. According to the same sources, it was the driver who lost control of his vehicle which crashed completely into a ravine by the side of the road, and 8 Russian paramilitaries lost their lives. The accident took place on the road linking Dongbaïkè to Abba, in the locality of Nana-Mambéré. According to some witnesses, the Russian vehicle had left the town of Baboua around 12 p.m. to go to Abba. But on arriving at the Dongbaïkè crossing, located 5 kilometers from Baboua, the vehicle left the paved road linking Baboua to Béloko to take the laterite road leading to Abba. But while traveling only 7 kilometers on the mountain road commonly called Dan-Ngaï, the driver wanted to overtake a motorcycle traveling in the same direction, lost control of his machine and fell several meters into a ravine, thus causing death. of all the attendants on board as well as the driver who is also a Russian. The 8 bodies remained at the site of the accident for several hours before another Russian vehicle, which came from the town of Bouar, picked them up. Even passers-by, who saw the carcass of the vehicle and the 8 bodies below the road, might not do anything.
