Eight doctors from the College of General Medicine have died from Covid-19 – El Sol de Tijuana

Tijuana.- At least eight doctors from the Baja California College of General Medicine have died from Covid-19 since the pandemic began, said the president of this college, Yesenia Espinoza.

“Eight died from my school. Mexico is the country with the highest number of health sector workers with deaths from Covid-19. We must remember that the health sector received low-quality materials, here they had a different situation because schools and private initiatives brought good protective equipment,” added the doctor.

Espinoza recalled that during the last state government administration it was necessary for private doctors to march to demand the application of their vaccine once morest Covid-19.

“We private doctors went out to march so that they might apply the vaccines to us, because they were not vaccinating us, there were many deaths, deceased private doctors, because we continue to treat patients with Covid-19 who did not go to health centers because they were afraid of getting sick. plus. They gave us the first dose on March 27, ”she mentioned.

With the current administration led by Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda as governor, and Adrián Medina Amarillas as secretary of health, vaccination throughout the health sector was developed without distinction between private and public.

“In the private sector we didn’t have to take to the streets. In the past administration they had asked us to find out how many we were, it only sweetened our ears, that’s why we went out into the streets. Currently they did the vaccination for the entire health sector, no distinction was made between private or public, “explained the president of the College of General Practitioners.

Analyzing a comparison with the green epidemiological traffic light of the past 2021 with the current 2022, Dr. Espinoza mentioned that during the spring and summer season of last year the percentage of the vaccinated population was lower, so there was a rebound in cases.

“Now we cannot say that the scenario is going to repeat itself, because many already have a second dose. There is a lack of information, there are people who think that Johnson & Johnson is only one dose, we must remember that vaccines have a validity, the fact that you have received a vaccine does not mean that you have already been fully protected, because otherwise the reinforcements would not exist ” , ended.
