The Vice Minister for Risk Management and Civil Protection, Carlos Pérez Ampueda, reported that eight people died, including three children, and two were injured in a traffic accident in San Juan de los Morros on Friday.
Through social media, the official explained that it was a multiple collision accident in San Juan de Los Morros, capital of the state of Guárico, and detailed that officers from the National Risk Management System and agents from citizen security agencies attended the scene.
According to the deputy minister, the accident involved “a LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) truck.”
The official said that “the accident left a regrettable balance of eight people dead on the spot, including three children, and two people injured.”
He added that the “Civil Protection Commissions and firefighters are working to remove the vehicle and deal with the fuel spill.”
