PLN West Java General Manager Susiana Mutia inaugurated the Public Electric Vehicle Charging Station in the rest area (DOK/PLN WEST JAVA)

PT PLN (Persero) West Java Main Distribution Unit strives to maintain smooth and reliable electricity supply during the Idul Fitri 1445 H year 2024 celebrations.

For this reason, 51 public electric vehicle charging stations (SPKLU) have been operated simultaneously. PLN West Java also established 313 alert posts.

“PLN West Java will always be present and participate in securing and smoothing the 2024 homecoming activities, especially for homecoming travelers who use electric vehicles. We are presenting 51 SPKLU at 23 rest area points on the 2024 homecoming route,” said General Manager of PLN West Java, Susiana Mutia , in Bandung, Wednesday (3/4).

These 51 SPKLUs will be directly integrated with the Charge.IN application and also New PLN Mobile.

SPKLU is also operated in Rest Area 149 B Tegalluar, Bojongsoang District, Bandung City. At the inauguration of the facility, the Head of the West Java ESDM Service, Ai Saadiyah Dwidaningsih expressed his appreciation for PLN’s support for the West Java Provincial Government’s program regarding the electric vehicle program.

“By 2024, 27 heads of regional apparatus in West Java will already use electric vehicles. For this reason, infrastructure support is needed, such as that carried out by PLN, so that the mobilization of regional apparatus can reach the entire community of West Java. “We are very grateful for the construction of this additional SPKLU,” added Ai.

The manager of Rest Area 149 B, Dodi, also conveyed the same thing, who hopes that SPKLU will become an additional facility for users of Rest Area 149B, especially at the Idul Fitri 1445 H celebration event.

Electrical reliability

Specifically to support the 2024 Lebaran Homecoming, PLN UID West Java has operated 200 EV Charger units in 141 SPKLU locations spread across 27 districts and cities with details of slow charging (8 chargers), medium charging (125 chargers), fast charging (54 chargers) , ultra fast charging (13 chargers).

To secure the 2024 Eid homecoming, West Java PLN has also assigned technical officers with a total of 4,320 personnel and 133 PDKB TM personnel.

The total alert locations consist of 536 priority locations consisting of 97 mosques, 57 transportation zones, 59 defense zones, 39 government zones, 136 hospitals, 42 tourist locations and 106 shopping centers spread across 17 locations.

“We are also preparing peripheral equipment to support reliability in the form of 20 units of UPS, 156 units of UGB, 11 units of UKB, 98 units of generators, 15 units of cranes, 9 units of detection, 700 units of cars and 96 units of motorbikes during the Idul Fitri 1445 standby,” he added. He added that the night peak load forecast for April 11 2024 against the realization of 22A April 2023 will increase by 2.51% or the equivalent of 118 MW with the average growth in night peak load during the 2024 Idul Fitri Alert Period against 2023 amounting to 2.51%.

Meanwhile, the forecast for the afternoon peak load on April 11 2024 compared to the realization on April 22 2023 will increase by 2.51% or the equivalent of 117 MW with the average growth in the afternoon peak load during the 2024 Idul Fitri Alert Period versus 2023 of 2.51%.

“PLN is ready to maintain electricity during the Eid al-Fitr 1445 H celebration period. People don’t need to hesitate to go home to their hometowns using electric cars because PLN has alerted SPKLU in rest areas,” stressed Susi.
