In this context, the international astronomy center, based on this approach, indicated in a press release that in the majority of Muslim Arab countries, the observation of the crescent moon announcing the start of the month of Chaoual 1445 AH will not be able to be done, on the evening of Monday April 8, 2024, with the naked eye or by telescope.
But according to this official scientific institution based in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, countries where the month of Ramadan began on Monday March 11 will not be able to observe the crescent on the evening of Monday April 8, which means that they will end therefore the month of Ramadan with thirty days, so that on Wednesday April 10, it will be Eid Al-Fitr at home.

As for the countries where Ramadan began on Tuesday March 12, including Morocco, Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei, Pakistan, Iran, Oman, Jordan and Libya, the crescent can be observed at the naked eye from the evening of Tuesday April 9, corresponding to the twenty-ninth of the month of Ramadan, which means that they will celebrate Eid Al-Fitr on Wednesday April 10 as well, explained the international astronomy center.
In Morocco, even if astronomical calculations make it possible to know precisely the day of the new moon, tradition requires that the star be observable with the naked eye. It is the Ministry of Habous and Islamic Affairs which officially announces the date of Eid Al Fitr in the Kingdom.
