All that was missing was the total number of visitors, public, media, technicians and industry to confirm the success of EICMA 2024, which closed its doors yesterday at the Rho Fiera Milano. More than 600,000 visitors were counted during the six days of the 81st edition of the International Two-Wheeler Exhibition, which celebrated the 110th anniversary of the most important trade fair for motorcycle fans and the industry: more than 40,000 more than the already excellent 2023 edition.
Also record-breaking is the number of exhibitors present, more than 770, representing 45 countries and 2163 brands, data that confirms the relevance and attractiveness of EICMA, with 26 percent of companies present at the Milan fair for the first time.
The indicators for the corporate sector also provide important confirmation. The presence of journalists, content writers, experts and communication professionals grew, with a solid increase of 13% in 2023 and coming from 74 countries, they almost reach the number of 8000. The media reported on the numerous innovations of the manufacturers, which are for returned in large numbers for the 2024 edition, as well as the content proposed by the organization outside and inside the pavilions. With a record area of over 330,000 square meters, EICMA enchanted visitors and the media in the MotoLive outdoor area, which featured shows, new entertainment offerings, motorcycle trials, 8 hours of live television broadcasts and, above all, the races with international riders and motorsport legends as well as the two-cylinder adventure games. Bikes, the queens of the motorcycle market. Also notable was the success of the Gaming Area, taken by storm by thousands of young people, as well as the Start up & Security Area, created thanks to the collaboration and support of ITA, the Italian trade agency for promoting the internationalization of Italian companies became. The exhibition “EICMA: 110 years of two-wheel design”, which was set up on the occasion of the event’s anniversary with a selection of 36 historical and modern motorcycles, also aroused great interest, with more than 20 thousand visitors.
“Very satisfied” were EICMA President and CEO Pietro Meda and Paolo Magri, who emphasized in the statement that “these figures are the best way to celebrate such a unique milestone as the 110th anniversary of EICMA.”
“Since the disruption caused by Covid,” added Meda and Magri, “we have never stopped investing in the future of the event by introducing business services, content, advertising and visitor experiences for the audience. The return of all producers was a source of great pride, as is the sight of the pavilions full of young people and families: to them, to all the enthusiasts and to our partners, our greatest goes Thank you very much.”
