The number of non-Kuwaiti workers in the government and private sectors increased from 1,641,000 in June 2023 to 1,689,000 in June 2024, an increase of 2.9% of the total non-Kuwaiti workers.
According to Kuwaiti government statistics, the Indian community ranked first for the highest nationalities in the labor market, and their number reached 537,430 individuals by the end of June 2024.
While the Egyptian community in Kuwait ranked second in the Kuwaiti labor market for non-Kuwaitis, with a total of 474 thousand.
According to recent statistics, the total number of employees in the government sector amounted to about 474 thousand employees, of whom the percentage of Kuwaitis was 79.6%, and the number of workers in the private sector reached about 1.7 million employees, of whom the percentage of Kuwaitis is only 4.4%.
Data from the Central Administration of Statistics showed that the total employment in the local labor market in the government and private sectors (excluding the family sector) amounted to two million and 141 thousand at the end of June 2024.
The data indicated an increase in the number of Kuwaiti workers from 447,064 individuals in June 2023 to 451,595 individuals in June 2024, with Kuwaiti employment achieving an increase of 1.01% annually, and the percentage of Kuwaitis reaching 21.1% of the total employment in the labor market.
Statistics issued by the Central Administration of Statistics on labor market data, until the end of June 2024, showed that the number of workers in the local labor market increased within a year by about 52 thousand.
Regarding the educational level, the data indicated that the percentage of Kuwaitis in the labor market with university qualifications and above reached 52.5%, and 8.8% of those with intermediate certificates.
