Gaza – An Egyptian source reported, on Wednesday, that 314 aid trucks entered the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing, on the first day of Eid al-Fitr.
This came according to what the private “Cairo News” channel, which is close to the regime, reported from a source it described as high-ranking, coinciding with the first day of Eid al-Fitr, which falls this year amid a devastating Israeli war on Gaza for more than 6 months.
In a brief news story, the channel quoted the source as saying: “314 aid trucks entered the Gaza Strip today (Wednesday) through the Rafah land crossing,” without further details.
Eid al-Fitr fell this year while Israel was waging a devastating war on Gaza, which left more than 100,000 dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and massive destruction and famine that claimed the lives of children and the elderly, according to Palestinian and UN data, which necessitated a trial in Tel Aviv before the The International Court of Justice on charges of committing “genocide”.
On Sunday, the head of the Egyptian State Information Service (official), Diaa Rashwan, said in a statement that his country decided to increase the number of humanitarian aid trucks to Gaza through the Rafah crossing to 300 trucks per day, without clarifying whether the aid was all Egyptian or belonged to other countries and destinations as well, as The number of trucks currently entering Gaza through Rafah has not been determined.
As a result of the war and Israeli restrictions that violate international laws, the residents of the Gaza Strip, especially the Gaza and North governorates, are on the verge of famine, in light of a severe scarcity of food, water, medicine, and fuel supplies, with the displacement of regarding two million residents of the Strip, which Israel has besieged for 17 years.
