The Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population explained, through the “Al-Astori” feature on the “Instagram” website, that smoking cigarettes and chewing tobacco products also lead to yellowing of the teeth.
In fact, there are 7 diseases that affect the mouth, and you should be careful of them:
- tooth decay: It occurs when the bacterial biofilm (plaque) converts sugars in foods and drinks into acids that erode tooth enamel and dentin over time.
- Periodontal (gum): It is a disease of the tissues that surround and support the teeth. It often appears as bleeding or swollen gums (gingivitis) and causes a lot of soreness, sometimes resulting in a foul odor.
- Tooth loss: Dental caries and periodontal disease are among the most important causes of tooth loss (tooth loss is more common in the elderly).
- mouth cancer: Oral cancer includes both lip cancer and cancers of all subsites of the oral cavity and oropharynx, and is more common in elderly men.
- Oral symptoms related to HIV infection: Infections include fungal, bacterial, or viral. Oral lesions associated with HIV infection can cause pain, discomfort, dry mouth, and difficulty eating.
- Oral and dental trauma: It is an injury to the teeth or to the hard or soft tissues in and around the mouth and the oral cavity.
- Mouth eaters: It affects children between the ages of two and six, especially those who suffer from malnutrition, infectious diseases and weak immune systems.
And if you are a denture user, you should remove it before bed and clean it well before using it, in order to avoid bad breath.
