Egyptian Foreign Minister: We interact with regional issues without getting involved militarily

Abdel Ati added, during today’s statements broadcast on Egyptian television, regarding “the issues surrounding us in: Palestine, Sudan, and Libya,” that they are “prolonged crises, all of which affect Egyptian national security.”

He continued: “The Egyptian intervention, proposal, and vision exist without any risks of involvement in armed military conflicts unless there is a threat to Egyptian national security and the Egyptian borders.”

He stressed that there are policies and tools for the process of implementing Egyptian policy, considering it “a very important issue to revitalize the Egyptian role.”

In response to a question about reformulating the relationship with Israel and Iran, Abdel Ati said that there are no caveats or red lines.

He stressed that Egypt is the pillar of stability in the region, and the prestige of the Egyptian state exists, in addition to the continuation of its regional and international role. He continued: “Everyone is trying as much as possible to open more relations with Egypt.”

He pointed out that the United States pushed for holding a strategic dialogue as soon as possible, and the European Union also pushed to raise relations with Egypt to a strategic level, and major powers such as China and Russia are seeking to deepen relations with Egypt, he said.

He pointed out that Egypt is one of the very few countries in the world that has strategic partnerships with parties conflicting with each other, “which is a credit to the Egyptian leadership and Egyptian foreign policy.”

He stressed that there are real partnership relations with African countries, and said: “We are moving on the issue of investment, and the Egyptian private sector plays a very important role,” noting that Egyptian investments in Africa amounted to more than 14 billion dollars.
