Egyptian banks raise the interest rate on the return of dollar certificates

The banks of Egypt and Al-Ahly decided to raise the return on dollar certificates for a period of 3 years and 5 years, starting from tomorrow, Sunday.

An official source at Banque Misr said that the return on the tripartite certificate will be 5.30% annually, 5.25% semi-annually, 5.20% quarterly, and 5.15% monthly.

Regarding the certificate for a period of 5 years, it will be 5.15% annually, 5.10% semi-annually, 5.05% quarterly and 5% monthly.

The National Bank of Egypt had announced the amendment of the fixed interest rates for the new gold certificate in US dollars issued by the bank for a period of 3 years, as well as the dollar certificates of the people of Egypt with terms of 5 years and 7 years, for new issues of certificates starting from October 9, and it is possible to save in them through all Bank branches or through Al-Ahly Net application for the convenience of customers.

The People of Egypt dollar certificate has a term of 5 years up to 5.15% annually, 5.10% semi-annually, 5.05% quarterly and 5% monthly with a minimum of 500 US dollars and its multiples.

The People of Egypt dollar certificate can also be purchased with a tenor of 7 years, starting from $1,000 or its multiples, with returns of up to 5.05% annually, 5% semi-annually, 4.95% quarterly and 4.90% monthly.
