The Egyptian authorities offered condolences to the father of the Russian young man, the victim of the deadly shark in Hurghada.

Today, Sunday, Major General Muhammad Al-Bandari, Secretary General of the Red Sea Governorate, on behalf of Major General Amr Hanafi, Governor of the Red Sea, offered condolences to Yuri Povov, the father of the murdered Russian youth, at his residence.

The general secretary offered to protect the father of the dead man all means of assistance, stressing that such rare and accidental incidents would not disturb the Russian-Egyptian relationship.

Al-Bandari added that the Red Sea governorate carried out a combing operation for the beaches, starting from El-Gouna in the north to the Makadi area in the south, to ensure that the swimming area is free of any other sharks, adding that the combing process was carried out through the participation of all concerned parties from protecting beaches, reserves, and others.

For his part, the father of the dead young man confirmed that what befell his son is a matter of fate and happens all over the world, praising the security and safety witnessed by the city of Hurghada, and affirmed his refusal to trade in the accident, especially since it is not the first time he has visited the city.

For his part, Victor Forbov, the Russian Consul General, said that the accident was accidental, and such incidents occur in all coastal and coastal countries of the world.

In addition, the Red Sea Governorate decided to reopen the beaches from El Gouna to Abu Souma Bay, starting today, Sunday, following reviewing and combing the area and not recording any abnormal observations and observations.

And the governorate decided to gradually return to activity in all regions, north and south, except for the accident area (specifically the Sheraton Shaab area, the old Sheraton area, and even the Sinbad area), where the decision to close it will be adhered to, in order to review the organizational procedures for users in these sites and to ensure that security and safety standards are followed to serve beachgoers.

The Egyptian authorities are studying a plan to prevent the recurrence of the accident and to avoid the arrival of predatory sharks to the Red Sea beaches.

Egyptian sources revealed to Al Arabiya.net that Major General Amr Hanafi, the governor of the Red Sea, is currently studying with the Tourism Investment Association to oblige hotels to set fishing nets with specific specifications determined by the specialized committees, at specific distances within the waters on various beaches.

The nets aim to impede the arrival of sharks to the beaches and places of residence of citizens and tourists in the sea water, in order to preserve lives and to ensure that the shark incident will not recur, in addition to broadcasting a message of reassurance among beachgoers.
