Egypt prepares to sign new agreement with Russia

During the MIMS Automobility Moscow International Exhibition, which was held in the Russian capital, Moscow, from August 19 to 22, 2024, Helmy revealed that the Egyptian participation in the exhibition is well received, and there are wide visits from participants to the pavilions of Egyptian companies, as the exhibition is one of the most important and largest exhibitions specialized in the automotive components sector in the Russian market, and it is also a means of opening up to markets neighboring Russia, and the exhibition attracts visitors from a large number of countries interested in the automotive components industry.

She said that there are opportunities to open export markets in Russia and the markets of the BRICS alliance countries, revealing that 3 Egyptian companies participating in the exhibition are close to concluding export deals in light of a competitive price and a competitive product and in light of the Russian boycott of some countries as a result of developments in the war in Ukraine.

She added that the Egyptian delegation from the automotive components industry participating in the MIMS Automobility Moscow exhibition participated in a number of meetings to identify the needs of the market there in light of Egypt’s move towards the BRICS markets, to increase the exports of the engineering sector, including the automotive components industry.

Mai Helmy stated that Egypt’s joining BRICS contributes to facilitating reaching agreements on trade exchange in local currency with some countries within the BRICS alliance, especially Russia, pointing to the intensification of work on presence in the markets of Russia, China, Brazil and India.
