Egypt.. Investigations reveal exciting details in the corruption case of the Ministry of Health and resolved the controversy over the minister

Al-Marsad newspaper: In the new case of bribery by the Egyptian Ministry of Health, the investigations acquitted Dr. Hala Zayed, the former Minister of Health, of the accusations she had made in the bribery case, which indicated that there were only 4 accused, who were not among them, and that her former ex-husband used her name to obtain bribery. She revealed that the defendants, including her ex-husband, mediated the reopening of two private hospitals, using the ex-colonel in return for a bribe to use his influence.

Investigations revealed that one of the defendants demanded for himself an amount of 5 million pounds as a bribe from the owners of a private hospital by other defendants, and that Salah Qassem, a doctor in a medical investment group, in partnership with Ahmed Al-Badawi and others at Dar Al-Saha Hospital, and following the establishment of the hospital, he and his partners sought to obtain an operating license It is required by the administration of non-governmental medical institutions “Free Treatment” at the Ministry of Health and Population, according to Cairo 24.

The investigations stated that the ministry formed a committee from this department headed by the fourth accused, director general of the General Administration of Medical Licensing, to inspect the hospital to make sure that there are no violations that prevent the issuance of a license to operate it, and the report ended with not agreeing to grant an operating license due to several violations, and then another committee was formed , its report ended with the results of its predecessor.

And she continued that to operate the hospital without the issuance of that license, one of the witnesses issued the director of the Free Treatment Department a decision to close it, and postponed its implementation for a period until the patients were evacuated. The third defendant, Hossam El-Din, who informed him during a meeting that brought them together of his relationship with the ex-Minister of Health’s ex-Minister of Health, and exerted his influence on officials at the Ministry of Health and Population.

Investigations showed that the accused, Hossam El-Din Fouda, had agreed to mediate with the other defendants to end the order to issue the license, and in implementation of that, a meeting was held to gather the four defendants; The first accused, Muhammad Abdul Majeed Al-Ashhab, in which he learned that the latter was the ex-Minister of Health’s divorced man, and was able to issue a license to operate the hospital.

The investigations also stated that the owners of the private hospital informed the ex-minister of health of the decision to close the hospital and asked to stop the implementation of the decision; He obtained a license to operate the hospital and a quality certificate for it, but he promised them to end the matter, and at the end of the meeting he asked them, a sum of 5 million pounds as a bribe from him and his partners in the hospital, in return for using his influence with officials at the Ministry of Health to obtain licenses to operate the hospital.
