Egypt denied, on Monday, what the Sudanese army announced, regarding the killing of its assistant military attache in Khartoum, this evening, by fire from the Rapid Support Forces.
A statement by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, posted on its Facebook page, stated: “In connection with what was reported by some media regarding the martyrdom of the assistant Egyptian military attache in Khartoum, the Egyptian ambassador to Khartoum, Hani Salah, confirmed that all members of the Egyptian diplomatic mission are fine, including members of the defense office.” .
The ambassador affirmed, according to the statement, that the Egyptian mission and technical offices will continue to carry out their tasks amid extremely complex circumstances.
And the Sudanese Armed Forces, in a statement posted on its Facebook page: “Continuing its criminal record and its indiscriminate killing, was martyred this evening by the rebel militia fire, the assistant of the Egyptian military attache in Khartoum, Muhammad Al-Hussein Muhammad Al-Rawi, while he was passing his car on the main road in Al-Sayed Abdul Rahman Street.”
The statement did not give details regarding the details of the alleged killing, while it considered it an “exposed and exposed” plan, seeking to fabricate charges “in an effort to drive a wedge between the Rapid Support Forces, the Sudanese people, and brotherly and friendly countries,” according to what was posted on Twitter.
At least 420 people were killed in the fighting that broke out on April 15, 4 years following the overthrow of former President Omar al-Bashir.
The army and the Rapid Support Forces carried out a coup in 2021, but a dispute arose between them during negotiations to merge the two forces and form a civilian government.
