Egypt demands an international investigation into the discovery of mass graves in Gaza

Egypt – Yesterday, Monday, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the international community to conduct an investigation following the discovery of mass graves of hundreds of Palestinians killed by the Israeli army during its incursion into the Gaza Strip.

Yesterday, Monday, the Civil Defense Service in the Gaza Strip announced, in a statement, that the number of bodies discovered had risen to 283, in a mass grave discovered on Saturday, in the “Nasser” Medical Complex in the city of Khan Yunis, south of the Strip, from which the Israeli army withdrew following widespread violations, according to Palestinian newspaper reports.

The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement: “In response to the discovery of mass graves in one of the medical complexes in Khan Yunis, it is regrettable and shameful that international law and human values ​​continue to be violated so crudely in the twenty-first century, in full view of all countries of the world, relevant international organizations and the Security Council.”

It condemned “the repeated Israeli violations of the provisions of international law and international humanitarian law in the Gaza Strip, which affect unarmed civilians, displaced persons, and medical personnel.”

She stressed “the need for immediate intervention by the international community to stop these violations, and to conduct the necessary investigations to hold perpetrators accountable.”

Regarding the situation in the West Bank, the Ministry considered that “the killing, destruction and violence witnessed in the West Bank over the past weeks is no less crude and dangerous, and further aggravates the crisis and threatens to explode the situation in the entire occupied Palestinian territories.”

It called for “the necessity of putting an immediate end to the violence and attacks carried out by settlers under the protection of Israeli forces once morest Palestinian civilians, their property and homes in the West Bank.”

Since October 7, the Israeli army has been waging a devastating war on Gaza with American support, leaving regarding 112,000 dead and wounded, most of them children and women, which required Tel Aviv to be tried before the International Court of Justice on the grounds of “genocide.”
