Egypt.. Chairman of the Chemical Industries Holding Company reveals the truth about the existence of drains flowing into the Nile River

Imad El-Din Mustafa said during a phone call with the “Hadrat Al-Mowaten” program on “Al-Hadath Al-Youm” channel on Sunday, “What was raised that what happened in Aswan regarding the intestinal flu cases is related to the industrial and sanitary drainage of “Kima” factories into the Nile are just rumors with no basis in truth.”

He added that the Kima Company had been pouring water into one of the drains that flows into the Nile since ancient times, and in 2010, i.e. 14 years ago, the outlet to the drain was closed in a celebration attended by all the officials of Aswan Governorate and the environment.

He added: “Since that date, the company has been discharging industrial wastewater after treating it at the state-owned station No. 10.”

He stated that the water company, after taking samples and matching them with specifications, uses them in planting tree forests to produce timber.

The Chairman of the Holding Company for Chemical Industries in Egypt pointed out that there are certain parties trying to stir up confusion to harm tourism in Aswan Governorate.

In the recent period, Aswan Governorate (southern Egypt) witnessed the sudden emergence of a mysterious disease after a large number of citizens flocked to 4 hospitals with symptoms resembling gastroenteritis, according to the government, which prompted it to send a medical team to investigate the disease.

According to data from the Egyptian Ministry of Health, 128 cases were admitted to hospitals during the period from September 11 to Sunday, September 22.

The cases are suffering from symptoms of intestinal flu, including diarrhea, nausea and vomiting, in the Abu Al-Rish area and some villages in the city of Daraw, north of the center and city of Aswan.
