Al-Marsad Newspaper: An Egyptian court has sentenced a legal officer to one year in prison for marrying a girl to a young man and his father at the same time.
According to “Akhbar Al-Youm”, the security services in the Beheira Security Directorate received a report from a girl accusing a legal officer and the father of her ex-wife, for forging an official marriage contract document without her knowledge.
She said, “My knowledge of the legal guardian began when a young man proposed to me, and following setting the date of the wedding, we went to the district official to complete the marriage contract. As a result, my fiancé’s father signed trust receipts to ensure the conduct of married life, because my fiancé and I did not reach the legal age of marriage.
And she continued, she went to the official in the area to obtain a marriage contract document, as it turned out that the marriage was not official – according to her saying, and that their customary marriage had been held at this time, explaining that she had given birth to a child from her ex-husband, and it has not been proven in the births record so far because there is no document Marriage and her husband not reaching the legal age.
She pointed out that the district official suggested that the marriage contract be concluded with her husband’s father in order for the newborn girl to be proven in his name, following which the divorce and a document was concluded. She pointed out that the Ma’zoun was the one who gave her the certificate in order to enroll my daughter in the birth records.
