The intervention of the First Instance Prosecutor’s Office of Aigio was requested by the paternal Ioanna K., publicly denouncing the ongoing pollution of the Seliniatikon-Loggo marine area.
The complainant, who has a holiday home in Logos and vacations there with her family in the summers, also communicated to “Peloponnisos” her complaint, which is accompanied by typical photos (according to her, the phenomenon was intense yesterday as well).
The complaint in detail: “As an active citizen of the community in which I live, interested in the protection of the environment, I would like to denounce the intense marine pollution observed on the coastal front of the Selianitika-Logos area. In particular, it has been observed that there are pipes in the area, which are channeled into the sea. Also, I wanted to inform your service that some days there is very intense pollution throughout the sea area, even seeing whole excrement.
I have called the Coast Guard twice last year, on the day of the problem, and they found this to be the case. Unfortunately, I am forced to make this complaint at your service, because on the one hand, all the previous actions I have taken have had no effect and on the other hand, I believe that marine pollution and the protection of the environment in general is also based on the individual responsibility of each citizen. I am also attaching photographic material so that you can see the extent of marine pollution. We are also waiting for the biological clean-up, which is being delayed at the expense of public health».
