Egan Bernal suffered a fall in stage 4 of the Tour of Denmark: this is how he is

The 167-kilometre Skive route for Egan Bernal was the first great test of his return to competition following the serious accident he experienced at the beginning of this year, the Ineos Grenadiers rider reappeared a couple of days ago and this Friday at the fourth stage of the competition that takes place in Denmark, with a mostly flat track, he fell to the ground following a crash at the back of the peloton that he might not avoid.

The glory of Colombian cycling was affected, but without major complications, it only became entangled in the large group of runners and immediately following achieving the desired stability, he rejoined to continue with the tour. However, for a few seconds there was concern regarding his health, since on the edge of the road the one marked with the number 41 rested without moving, waiting for some medical personnel to attend to him.

After a few minutes in which he had the company of the members of his team, the Zipaqui native felt in full condition to rejoin the route, which still had more than 100 km left on the day. Having changed his bike, with no apparent major complications, he took on the task of pedaling and managed to connect with the main group in which he has remained throughout the entire route since the competition began.

During the course of stage 4 and following what happened, the Colombian team was incisive in trying to stay as close to the front, without generating promising attacks but only planting themselves to have more effective control of the race. Under this scenario, the circuit stipulated for this Friday in Danish lands was developed, which ended with victory in the final packaging for the Belgian, Jasper Philipsen.

In stage 3 of the Tour of Denmark 2022, Colombian Daniel Arroyave abandoned (EF Education-EasyPost), who was unable to finish the course due to severe pain from a fall.

Stage 5 will take place this Saturday between Give and Vejle, with a total of 126.5km. The race can be followed live through Señal Colombia and on WEEK You will have all the information of the day.
