Following incidents that have occurred in recent days, the municipality of Lens wanted to put things right regarding the exit from the Pairi Daiza car park at the bottom of rue des Deux Bonniers. “Following certain concerns, the sign “except local traffic” which was at the beginning of rue de l’Abbaye, in the commune of Brugelette, has been moved and installed at the start of rue des Deux Bonniers, in the commune of Lens”, communicated the municipality of Lens. “This measure aims to prevent the Pairi Daiza car park from ending up in a local service. A new notice board will soon be placed at the start of rue de l’Abbaye.”

In addition, the municipality encountered problems in Cambron-Saint-Vincent with visitors to Parc Pairi Daiza, especially on the last day of the Estivales. “It has been noted that many visitors have taken the rue des Deux Bonniers. Following this situation, contacts were established this week with the Park as well as with the Head of the local police force.”

As a result, the park agents deliberately did not redirect cars to the village of Cambron-Saint-Vincent, which was forbidden to other than local traffic. “However, we found that there was no sign indicating the return to the RN56 when you leave the car park. To remedy this, the Park has taken measures by placing signs with arrows this Friday to indicate the right path to follow.”

That said, these Friday and Saturday evenings, a police patrol will be in place at the exit of the park to properly guide visitors to the park “If necessary, a meeting with the representatives of the Park and the head of the body might take place this Monday morning .”

In addition, a mobility study around the park will be carried out by the SPW during the second half of 2023.
