Three version 7.0 electronic ballot boxes, used for the vote of Mexicans abroad and during the recent local electoral process in the states of Mexico and Coahuila, were installed this Thursday by the National Electoral Institute (INE) for the selection of the queen of the fair of the municipality of Tocatlán.
In an agile manner and with immediate results, the exercise was carried out on campus 29 of the Center for Scientific and Technological Studies of Tlaxcala (CECYTE), located in the municipal seat of Tocatlán, in which a total of 487 students from that subsystem participated, as well as as from Technical High School No. 6.
With evident curiosity and emotion, one by one, the basic level students voted in favor of one of the four participating candidates – Aranza León Hernández, Valeria Bonilla Ramos, Karla Denisse Escalante Alonso and Yairem Esmeralda Avendaño Luna – to obtain the crown. and the representation of its municipality during the patron saint festivities.
The teachers, as well as the municipal authorities participating in the organization of the election, recognized the promptness of the selection allowed by these technological mechanisms, since, without a doubt, they gave the possibility of completing the election in a miniscule time, compared to what was It carries out the installation, voting and the computation of the results, through conventional ballot boxes.

After making the electronic ballot boxes available to all social sectors for any elective exercise they require, the Vocal of Electoral Organization of the Local Executive Board of the INE in Tlaxcala, Mirna Eugenia Garduño Ruiz recognized that these new ballot boxes, totally digital, are an advance important and innovative that optimizes times and gives agile and accurate results.
He noted that these ballot boxes were provided to the entity by the Executive Directorate of Electoral Organization, with the purpose that citizens know and use them during school and/or social elections, as well as companies or union organizations or of any other type. .
“At the INE we are certain that this type of technological instrument must be brought closer to the citizenry and that they appropriate their use and usefulness, since it will surely be the way in which their authorities are elected,” he explained.
Garduño Ruiz stated that among the advantages that electronic ballot boxes offer, is that they are easy to transport, they do not require internet service, nor do they require a large number of people for their installation and use; In addition, the results are obtained practically instantly and leave no doubt that the premise that states: “one person, one vote” is fulfilled.

Without complications and with the results automatically returned by the 7.0 polls, the voting public and other attendees learned that Karla Denisse Escalante Alonso was chosen to represent her municipality in the 2023 edition of the employer’s fair, obtaining a total of 204 votes. Meanwhile, second place was won by Yairem Esmeralda Avendaño Luna, who registered 182 votes in her favor; while Aranza León Hernández added 76 ballots to her cause, and Valeria Bonilla Ramos, 25 to hers.
Before the representatives of the candidates, the results were recorded and later placed in full view of those attending the elective event, who were satisfied with the expeditious and accurate nature of the elections.
