Postoperative scarring on the face is a problem that worries many plastic surgeon patients. It is particularly unpleasant when the scars remain visible.
In a conversation with plastic surgeon Alexander Mamonov, the main methods of eliminating this undesirable consequence of the operation were discussed. Laser correction is an effective way to combat newly formed scars. Hardware cosmetology allows you to use a laser on the damaged area, thereby stimulating active tissue regeneration.
However, on old scars, this method may be less effective; in such cases, a more radical solution to the problem is necessary. Surgical removal is an option when conservative equipment and methods do not produce results. If scars are too extensive and cannot be corrected, they may require excision and modification for cosmetic purposes. Chemical peeling is suitable for areas of the face except the eyelids. This method can be used until the scar has had time to fully form. Effectiveness depends on skin type and tendency to form keloid scars.
Before choosing a scar treatment method, it is recommended to consult an experienced cosmetologist.
