“Education Interface Exhibition: Advancing Academic Programs and Future Professions in the UAE”

ABU DHABI, 18th May, 2020 (WAM) — Lieutenant General H.H. Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, visited the Education Interface exhibition on its second and final day.

During his visit to the exhibition, which was held under the slogan “Nine Years in the Service of Education”, His Highness was briefed on the most important programs and specializations offered by academic and educational institutions and universities that contribute to the development of education and future professions.

His Highness’s visit included the pavilions of the United Arab Emirates University, Mohammed bin Zayed University for Human Sciences, Zayed University, Rabdan Academy, the Khalifa Award for Education pavilion, and the Fatima College of Health Sciences, where he heard from the officials of these pavilions an explanation about the academic programs and initiatives offered by these national institutions.

Over the course of two days, the conference discussed issues of developing mechanisms for anticipating future professions and academic disciplines to keep pace with the labor market, and came out with recommendations calling for strengthening cooperation between educational institutions and the work and production sectors. To give students opportunities to complement theoretical knowledge with applied experiments.

Her Excellency Dr. Moza Saeed Al-Badi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Education Interface, extended her thanks and appreciation to Lieutenant General H.H. Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, for his Highness’s support and sponsorship of the conference, this national academic event that enhances the fields and efforts of developing and advancing education.

She said that success in the current era cannot be achieved without full awareness and mastery – knowledge and application – of the concepts of sustainability and artificial intelligence, and that the Education Interface Exhibition and the Youth Conference in the Middle East have a positive impact on the teaching and learning process in the region, as it is an important national initiative pursued by the UAE to become a pioneer. In the field of education, stressing that the exhibition witnessed a success that exceeded expectations with the number of attendees, as it reached more than (15) thousand students, in addition to visitors of different ages and nationalities.

Al-Badi unveiled a pioneering community initiative supporting the success of the exhibition, led by the First Abu Dhabi Bank and the Bin Hamouda Group, by offering (40) scholarships in the fields of bachelor’s and master’s degrees; For UAE students to benefit from it, she thanked those in charge of these two ancient institutions.

The exhibition was held on the 16th and 17th of May, with wide local and international participation from educational and academic institutions, amounting to 400 universities and academic institutions from inside and outside the UAE.

The conference discussed a number of issues and ideas related to developing mechanisms for anticipating future professions, academic disciplines that keep pace with the needs of the labor market and identifying its directions, scientific and professional disciplines that meet its future needs, building sustainable relationships in the field of education between all parties to the educational process, and providing a selection of leading universities known Students with its academic programmes, criteria and conditions for admission and registration in it, and bridging the gap between the outputs of higher education and the requirements of the labor market, as well as introducing students and their parents to the best academic practices in scientific institutions, and giving them the opportunity to discuss their study options and educational aspirations.

The second and final day program included the participation of Dr. Yasser Al-Wahidi, Director of the Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy, Dr. Hosnia Al-Ali, Educational Programs Advisor at the Archives and the National Library, Ms. Badriya Al-Hosani, Acting Director of Academic Administration at the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, and Ms. Moza Al-Ghafli, Assistant for Manuscripts Restoration at the Sharjah Heritage Institute, in addition to A panel discussion organized by the Youth Council of the Ministry of Interior, entitled “Artificial Intelligence and Sustainability of Security”.
