The Ministry of Education (Mineduc) revealed on Friday, August 9, that unknown persons are seeking to defraud citizens by offering them jobs in the portfolio under the name of Minister Anabella Giracca, and they are therefore analyzing the legal actions to be taken in this case.

The Ministry of Education has issued a warning and urges people not to be surprised, as it assures that the hiring processes are carried out in a transparent manner, based on current regulations, so no one is authorized to offer jobs in the name of the minister and her deputy ministers.

“The hiring procedures are different and are not related to the duties of ministers and deputy ministers,” the ministry said in a statement.

“The Ministry of Education alerts the public about fraudulent activity by unscrupulous individuals who, by usurping the identity of the Minister of Education, Anabella Giracca, and illegally posing as public officials, are offering jobs in a deceptive manner. The population is urged to remain alert and not fall for scams related to false job offers,” added the Mineduc.

He added that they are evaluating the legal actions and the relevant complaints in the case, so that “these criminal acts are investigated and those responsible face justice.”

In the statement, the Ministry of Education assures that the hiring processes “strictly adhere to current regulations, guaranteeing transparency, equity and recognition of merit.”

She also said that neither the minister nor the deputy ministers are directly involved in contracting or acquisition processes.

“It is reaffirmed that all procedures and services offered by the Ministry of Education are completely free of charge. Therefore, the population is urged not to be victims of fraud by individuals who request money or favors in exchange for supposed services or jobs,” the document says.
