In the middle of a radio interview, the Buenos Aires Secretary of Security Sergio Berni held a live chat with the two drivers who beat him in a demonstration once morest insecurity, following the crime of a colleague.
The crossing occurred in the program that Eduardo Feinmann leads by Mitre, where the journalist asked the minister if he would be able to forgive his attackers.
“It is not a question if I would be able, it is my obligation because I am a Christian,” Berni replied.
Immediately followingwards, the driver put Jorge Galiano on the air, one of the bus drivers who was detained for hitting the minister.
“I want to sincerely apologize. I am at the disposal of what you need and of Justice. I’m not going to hide or dodge anything. I apologize. These things cannot happen, they are not going to happen. I want a calmer country and that my children can walk down the street. I want security for citizens,” said the driver.
Berni accepted the apology and confirmed that he will not file a complaint for what happened.
Then, the journalist put Jorge Zerdá, another of the drivers, on the air, who repeated his apologies to Berni.
“It was a moment of euphoria. I was bad I stand on your side, Mr. Berni, the system of violence has grown a lot and I know they do a lot, but sometimes they can’t cope. It was my mistake to have raised my hand. We were out of it. I apologize a thousand times,” he said.
After the apologies, Berni highlighted the tasks they carry out to combat insecurity and assured: “I will never hide behind a desk to avoid problems.”
