Edson Álvarez, Mexican player for West Ham of the Premier League, will return to the Netherlands to receive a special tribute from Ajax Amsterdam.
According to Mike Verweij, a reporter for the newspaper De Telegraaf, the capital team is preparing a party in honor of the former América player, who left for the Premier League last summer.
Senior managers of the club are expected to be present prior to the match between Ajax vs. NEC in the Eredivisie this Sunday.
The tribute will be made before this commitment and one day following Edson Álvarez is active with West Ham when visiting Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.
Ajax did not have the opportunity to thank Edson Álvarez for the contribution he had during the four years of his stay in the Eredivisie and, now, this debt will be owed, although it comes months following Edson’s signing for the ‘Hammers’.
During the four years that Edson Álvarez was at Ajax, he helped achieve two Eredivisie titles, in addition to winning the Netherlands Cup.
