Edmund Gonzalez Urrutia74 years old, is a prominent internationalist born in La Victoria, Aragua state, and graduated from the Central University of Venezuela (UCV), who also obtained his master’s degree in International relations in the American University of Washington, United States, in 1981.

With a consolidated diplomatic career, he held various positions in the General Directorate of International Policy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Venezuelan (MRE) between 1994 and 1998, including the direction of the Strategic Analysis and Planning committee.

During his outstanding career, González Urrutia served as Venezuelan ambassador to Argentina between 1998 and 2002, and previously held the same position in Algeria from 1991 to 1993.

His experience in international affairs and his commitment to diplomacy have made him a respected figure both nationally and internationally.

In addition to his diplomatic work, González Urrutia is recognized for his commitment to academia and research. He currently serves as deputy director and coordinator of the Working Group for Monitoring the International System of the Fermín Toro Institute of Parliamentary Studieswhere he collaborates with other prominent Venezuelan lawyers and politicians.

After a 12-hour extension granted by the National Electoral Council (CNE) following the closing of the application period, the PUD finally managed to enter the application system to register González Urrutia.
