The Attorney General of the Republic announced last Friday that the Public Ministry is conducting an investigation through the 58th prosecutor’s office of national jurisdiction in matters of computer crimes, to which are added the investigations for contempt and disobedience of the laws against the former presidential candidate of the Democratic Unitary Platform (PUD), Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia.
“In the next few hours, Mr. Edmundo González Urrutia will be summoned based on the ongoing investigation to give a statement regarding his authorship of the website that has usurped the authority and jurisdiction that only corresponds to the Venezuelan Electoral Power. He will have to answer,” the prosecutor said during a press conference.
Saab explained that investigations related to cybercrime have the support of state agencies, “and the servers, users and people used to create anxiety in the population are being identified.”
“The investigations were carried out after González Urrutia called for actions to publish false and forged documents on a website, of whom, by the way, nothing is known, since he does not show his face, but he must show his face before this MP,” reiterated the prosecutor.
