According to Kevin Weekes, defenseman Philip Broberg might soon be traded by the Edmonton Oilers.
The former National Hockey League (NHL) goaltender and current analyst for the ESPN network, however, confided on the X platform (formerly Twitter) that the Alberta team would aim to obtain a player with a similar or lower salary in return .
Broberg, who is entering the final year of his contract in 2023-2024, receives an amount of $863,333 on the Oilers payroll.
The man who was the eighth overall pick in the 2019 draft is slow to make his place in the NHL.
In 10 games so far this season, the Swede has not obtained any points. He claims 11 in 79 career games on the Bettman circuit.
???? I’m told the @EdmontonOilers are exploring potential Trade options on young D Broberg. Given the #LetsGoOilers Cap situation, it would likely have to be dollar for dollar transaction. #HockeyX #HockeyTwitter #Alberta . pic.twitter.com/PZLmS7TxXt
