“The Last Women of the Sea”

Entering the waters of Jeju Island in search of seafood and other resources — without any oxygen cylinders or similar equipment — the Haenyeo are seeing their culture increasingly threatened and are fighting to keep it alive.

According to Apple, the production focuses on themes such as friendship, unity, independence and empowerment, “unfolding into an uplifting tale of women facing global powers to protect their beloved ocean and inspire a new generation”.
