Eden Hazard has been dragging his spleen with Real Madrid for several seasons now. While experiencing another disappointing exercise, with only seven starts in the team coached by Carlo Ancelotti, the Belgian experienced another disappointment with the Red Devils during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The former Lille player has also made the decision to withdraw from the Belgian selection following this resounding fiasco. A nightmarish season therefore for the one who has still not given full satisfaction in the Spanish capital since his arrival from Chelsea in the summer of 2019.
At the moment, the Belgian is tied until 2024 with Real Madrid. And it might be that Eden Hazard goes to the end of his contract despite his glaring lack of playing time, as we announced to you recently. Although he is not part of his coach Carlo Ancelotti’s plans, the 32-year-old has already made up his mind regarding his future. Usually rather aloof from the media, the former Belgian international (126 selections for 33 achievements) gave a very long interview to our colleagues from the RTBF in Belgium. The opportunity for the main interested party to come back to several hot spots including his international retirement but also his future with the Merengue.

Eden Hazard wants to stay at Real Madrid
Usually rather aloof from the media, Eden Hazard returned uncompromisingly to his desires for the rest of his career. “I would like to stay. I always said it. To hope to play. I expect one thing is to be on the pitch to prove that I still know how to play football. People doubt, it’s normal. I understand very well. But for me, I’m still here next year. A transfer is not on the agenda. But you never know” notably entrusted the Belgian player. If this is confirmed, the Belgian will therefore have another season to justify the pharaonic price of his transfer at the time when he arrived in Madrid (115 million euros).
For the moment, Eden Hazard simply wants to play to find sensations but also to prove to his detractors that they made a mistake by giving up on him. “What can make me change my mind? I don’t know. The only thing I think regarding is playing. That’s why I don’t even think regarding leaving. Deep down inside, I think I can bring something. I feel it, that’s all. People, if I bring a little, they will trust me once more. They may think they made a mistake leaving me out. I just need minutes in the legs” concluded the 32-year-old. Statements that have the merit of being clear. Eden Hazard knows what he wants!
