When customers shop, they rely on the labels on the products. An Edeka customer now experienced a surprise.
Munich – Shopping in the supermarket or discounter always has surprises in store. Whether at Lidl, Aldi, Penny, Edeka, Kaufland, Rewe or the competition – mistakes or inconsistencies happen from time to time, despite the best efforts of the staff.
An Edeka customer recently found a fault in his yoghurt pot, which even the company only recognized following taking a second look. On the other hand, a Kaufland customer felt cheated following buying a pack of bratwurst. Even if it was probably a production error and there was no conscious deception.

The case of an Edeka customer now proves that it can also work the other way around. He discovered a bug in his product. But instead of criticizing the supermarket chain, he even thanked them for it. And for a good reason.
He posted a picture on Twitter, to which he wrote: “That was unexpected, thank you Edeka.” He also added an emoji crying tears of laughter and a thumbs up to his tweet. But why?
Free croissant for Edeka lucky guy: Customer thanks for production errors
The picture shows an oven tray with baking paper and seven croissant blanks on it. Next to the tin was the associated packaging for the deep-frozen pastries. It was the “pretzel croissants with 22 percent butter, deep-frozen for baking” from Edeka’s own brand, as a look at the packaging revealed. The bottom right was also the quantity, 6 pieces should be in the croissant pack.
However, there were seven pretzel croissants on the baking tray – one more than the pack was supposed to contain. Pretty good luck for the hungry Edeka customer, if you can believe his statements. He probably felt the positive effects of a production error and bought seven pretzel croissants for the price of six in his Edeka branch.
You have to be lucky, meanwhile not all customers in the supermarket or discounter are like that. A pack of fish fingers recently caused trouble for an Aldi customer.
