Two members of the Fire Department were moved to other positions than those they were serving, due to the ongoing investigation into the fire of June 21, 2024 in Hydra.
According to information, the director of the Directorate for Combating Arson Crimes (D.A.E.E.) was moved to the Fire Academy as well as another member of the AED to another position for the same reasons.
According to sources of the Fire Brigade, an urgent Sworn Administrative Examination (SAR) has already been ordered by the chief of the Fire Brigade, “to investigate the commission of disciplinary offenses due to actions and/or omissions of the investigating fire officers who were involved in the incident.
Any criminal prosecution by the competent judicial authority against fire officials is understood to result in the prescribed disciplinary penalties, in accordance with the current institutional framework”.
