BRITISH musician Ed Sheeran is taking another hiatus from music for the next few months in order to devote all his thoughts and energy professionally to helping various educational institutions with his charity, The Framlingham Foundation.

This form of assistance is not provided by teaching at music schools but by seeking access to funding and providing scholarships to underprivileged students.

As reported by Daily MailWednesday (11/7), this donor activity is not the first time Ed Sheeran has done it. Previously, the singer of the song Perfect donated £1 million to his old school, but this time he will dedicate himself much more than before by inviting various investors.

Ed Sheeran said the noble step to help the world of education to gain financial access started first from his home region. After that, the mission will be developed on a wider scale in various parts of England.

“I’m now visiting more secondary schools that really need music funding,” says Ed Sheeran.

Ed said he really wanted to help various students as the next generation in accessing education so that more people can achieve success through education, especially those who want to study music like him.

“I’m not academically brilliant and in this world I would be considered stupid. But I excelled in music and that’s why people thought I was good at something. I felt it was very helpful being at a state-funded school and I really (wanted to) push that,” he said.

The Framlingham Foundation revealed earlier this year that it had donated £1 million to students in the art department at Ed’s old school. Sheeran has previously donated financial aid to photography and computer studies at his old school, as well as providing music equipment to primary schools and funding scholarships for low-income families.

The Framlingham Foundation’s latest accounts show it spent £91,000 on its 2022 endowment and has additional funds of £338,000. (Z-3)
