Jaipur: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is targeting Congress leaders in Rajasthan where elections are due. The ED has summoned Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s son Vaibhav Gehlot for questioning in the Foreign Exchange Act violation. ED is raiding the house of Rajasthan Congress President Govind Singh Dotasara. ED raids Govind Singh’s houses in Jaipur and Sikar in connection with examination paper leak case. Those connected with the agency said that inspection is going on at six other places.
The ED raid comes at a time when election campaigning is in full swing in Rajasthan. 12 lakh rupees and documents were seized by the ED in raids conducted at seven places last week. The houses of Congress leader Dinesh Khodania and some others were searched last week.
The ED is also conducting a raid at the house of Bengal minister Jyotipriya Malik in Kolkata. Bengal Forest Minister Jyoti Priya’s house in Salt Lake area is being raided by the ED in a corruption case related to distribution of ration. In parallel, ED is conducting raids at eight more places in Kolkata. The flat of the minister’s personal assistant is also being searched.
