Ecuador prepares for the arrival of 11 leaders at the XXIX Ibero-American Summit

The Government of Ecuador estimates the arrival of between nine and eleven heads of State and Government for the XXIX Ibero-American Summit. This was confirmed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility, Gabriela Sommerfeld, who expressed her hope that Mexico will be present.

The Ecuadorian Foreign Minister reported that nine leaders have already confirmed their attendance at this meeting, including the King of Spain, Felipe VI; to the president of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez; and the presidents of Argentina, Javier Milei; Paraguay, Santiago Peña; and Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader.

Likewise, the presence of the vice presidents of El Salvador and Uruguay, as well as the foreign ministers of Chile and Costa Rica, stood out.

Meanwhile, they are awaiting written confirmation from two other heads of state who have expressed their intention to attend Cuenca verbally.

The summit will take place in Cuenca, Ecuador, on November 14 and 15.
