Dakar, June 22 (APS) – The head of the ECOWAS electoral observation mission in Sierra Leone, Mohamed Ibn Chambas met, on Wednesday in Freetown, with various stakeholders in the electoral process to inquire regarding the level of preparation of the organization of presidential and legislative elections in this country on Saturday.
The head of the electoral observation mission of the Economic Community of West African States thus commended the efforts of the Electoral Commission in the direction of a good organization of the elections of June 24 following having had a working session with its president, Mohamed Kenewui Konneh, we learned from the community organization.
Mohamed Ibn Chambas, at the same time, praised the commitment of the President of the Electoral Commission to work for the holding of free, transparent and inclusive elections.
The ECOWAS electoral observation mission also discussed with a representative of the Political Parties Regulatory Commission in Sierra Leone (PPRC), challenges and challenges in terms of security and the participation of political parties in the electoral process.
Welcoming the general calm in the country and the good conduct of the electoral campaign, Mohamed Ibn Chambas encouraged the Political Parties Regulatory Commission to resolve the outstanding questions of the electoral process and ensure that all stakeholders are involved in the process.
