This Thursday the Ecopetrol Board of Directors met and it was decided that Felipe Bayón, president of the company since September 2017, will leave office on March 31.
The selection process for the next executive is already underway, as reported by the largest company in the country, through a statement in the Financial Superintendency.
For the moment, the name of Ricardo Roa, former manager of Grupo Energía Bogotá, has been known as one of the great options for this position.
One of Bayón’s great achievements was the purchase of 51.4% of the shares of ISA, with which the oil company seeks to boost its strategy of promoting clean energy.
“Under the leadership of Felipe Bayón, the Ecopetrol Group also became a pioneer in the region by setting a goal of reducing net carbon emissions to zero by 2050, as well as the design and implementation of its strategic plan for the development of low-emission hydrogen,” the Board stated.
