Economic mission: Princess Astrid visits her niece, Princess Elisabeth in Oxford (photos)

Princess Elisabeth joined her aunt Princess Astrid in the pouring rain on Wednesday at St Hilda’s College, one of the constituent colleges of the University of Oxford, as part of the economic mission that Princess Astrid has chaired since Monday UK.

Princess Elisabeth is currently studying at Oxford and took advantage of the visit of her aunt, Princess Astrid, to take part in a meeting between the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Oxford, Louise Richardson, the Principal of St Hilda’s College, Dame Sarah Springman, and the three rectors of the Flemish universities of Ghent, Louvain and Antwerp.

Around 80 Belgians study at Oxford. Walloon Vice-President Willy Borsus and Federal Energy Minister Tinne Van der Straeten also took part in the meeting. St Hilda’s College was founded in 1893. Initially for women only, it became coeducational in 2008…
