Ecobalyse: Environmental Labeling for Clothing – A Step Towards Sustainable Consumption

Most of our consumption habits have an impact, sometimes significant, on the environment, particularly in the textile sector. This is why the Government, in line with the Citizens’ Climate Convention, has launched work on environmental labeling for clothing, with the aim of allowing consumers to have transparent access to the environmental impacts of each product they produce. he chooses, with the aim of leading to more informed choices.

The Ministry of Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion will unveil this Wednesday April 3 “Ecobalyse”, the calculator for this future environmental display of our clothing. This tool developed in conjunction with ADEME will allow companies and professionals in the sector to easily and free of charge obtain the environmental cost of their product, but also allow citizens to consult the environmental impacts of the clothing they purchase.

In order to present the methodological framework of environmental display and to take stock of the launch schedule, a telephone press brief is organized on Wednesday April 3 at 9:30 a.m.
