EC 5 State Assembly Elections Date: The stage is set for 5 state election dates

Delhi: The Central Election Commission (CEC) has started press conferences to announce poll dates for Uttar Pradesh, Goa, Punjab, Manipur and Uttarakhand. With this, the code of conduct came into force in all the five states. There will be 403 constituencies in Uttar Pradesh, 117 in Punjab, 70 in Uttarakhand, 60 in Manipur and 40 in Goa.

Election dates are as follows:

Announcing the election dates, Chief Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra said the term of the ministries in all the five states would end in March. It is important to ensure the security of the Kovid and hold elections. In the Kovid situation, holding elections was a big challenge. But all security measures will be taken to ensure that the election is held.

18.34 crore voters will exercise their voting right in the five states. All state election commissioners have been directed to visit major polling stations. The maximum number of voters in a polling station will be 1250. It will be ensured that there will be at least one booth in all the constituencies and at least one booth for women polling officials. Candidates can submit nomination papers online. It encourages maximum. All polling stations will be on the ground floor.

Senior citizens over the age of 80, physically challenged and Kovid patients can vote by post.

Kovid safety standards include:

  • All election officials must take both doses
  • Booster dose will also be ensured for those on election duty
  • All polling stations will be sanitized
  • Polling time increased by one hour

  • Parties and candidates should conduct maximum digital campaigning
  • Ban on rallies, walks, road shows, bicycle and bike rallies until January 15
  • Prohibition of jubilant demonstrations
