Will the bike of tomorrow also be assisted by artificial intelligence? In any case, this is the direction that the Taiwanese company Acer, known for its computer know-how, wanted to take. The company presented its vision of the bicycle this Thursday with “ebii”, its electrically assisted bicycle assisted by an AI.

Artificial intelligence at the service of safety and autonomy

Quentin Le Sourd, accessories (and micro-mobility) product manager at Acer, explains the software to us: “Via the dedicated application, which will be compatible with IOS or Android, the user will be able to enter their destination. The software will best calculate the assistance delivered during the journey to ensure optimum management of autonomy. Avoid running out of assistance in the middle of the journey or day. »

The artificial intelligence should learn from your different journeys to identify how the user pedals and thus constantly improve the experience on the bike. The ebii is also equipped with a tracer but also with a system for locking the bike in the event of theft.

Safety is ensured by a rear radar system which will warn the driver of the imminent arrival of a vehicle behind him. “On the same principle as the Garmin Radar”, says the product manager. The transmission is ensured by a belt.

Mainly made of aluminum, for a weight of approximately 16 kg, battery included. The bike has a new style, still rarely seen in the sector. The motor is slid into the hub of the front wheel. The company announces “up to 110 km of autonomy”.
