Eaten the earth or swallowed the sky, 18 prisoners escaped from Rawalakot jail could not be found – Pakistan

Eaten the ground or swallowed the sky, four days have passed, but not a single one of the 18 prisoners who escaped from the district jail of Azad Kashmir, Rawalakot, might be found.

All tactics, including the use of sophisticated equipment and drone cameras by the government, including placing a price on the heads of escaped prisoners, proved unsuccessful.

The investigation by the inquiry committee headed by Secretary to the Government Chaudhry Raqib is continuing for the third day today, while the government has offered a reward of Rs. has also done

It should be noted that on June 30, a group of prisoners broke the jail in Rawalkot area of Azad Kashmir, 19 prisoners, including six death row convicts and a person wanted by India, escaped in broad daylight, while one prisoner was killed by police firing. After this tragedy, the police started an inquiry and arrested 7 officials including the Deputy Superintendent Jail.

Saqib Majeed, Usman Iqar, Shamir Azam, Aamir Abdullah, Faisal Hameed and Nazreyasin are among those who escaped. Noman Asif, Asif Dilbar and Saqleen Sarfaraz were sentenced to 25 years, Mukram Faisal, Sajid Naseer and Sohail Rashid were sentenced to 10 years and 10 years respectively.

After the tragedy, security was put on high alert in all jails across Azad Kashmir, the Azad Kashmir government also suspended the superintendent and other staff of Rawalkot Jail for alleged negligence.

The government had written to the Chief Justice of the High Court to constitute a judicial commission to probe the Rawalkot jail incident.

It may be recalled that the Inspector General of Prisons had written a letter to the Registrar High Court on May 30 in which the District Jail, Rawalkot, had been declared extremely unsafe due to the possibility of dangerous prisoners escaping from the jail.

However, why the security of the jail has not been increased is a question mark. Possibly due to lack of adequate security arrangements, the escape of the prisoners took place.
