Bloatware… a real scourge when installing Windows. It is these “small” softwares that pollute your installation on the Microsoft OS: TikTok, Instagram, Spotify, Prime Video, Netflix….
We had already seen together that there are software or scripts to remove these bloatware. However it was a method which was not always 100% effective and which it was necessary to launch after the installation of Windows.
We will see in this article that it is possible, thanks to a small bug, to perform a clean install of Windows 11, without any bloatware.

To start, it is necessary to create Windows 11 installation media. Today, in general, this goes through a bootable USB key.
You can follow one of my guides to prepare your Windows 11 installation USB key, via the Rufus application for example.
Then start your computer on your bootable USB key to finally arrive on the installation of Windows 11. And this is where everything will be played to install Windows 11 without any unwanted application preinstalled.
When you arrive on the first screen which prompts you to choose your language, select ” English (International) » or « English (Europe) ” in the field Monetary format and schedule. It is this little trick of nothing at all that will allow you to perform a clean installation.
Then continue the installation as a classic Windows installation.
During the first restart of your computer, you will come across the classic OOBE interface, except that here you should have an error message. Don’t panic, you can continue here by clicking on “Ignore”.
Then let yourself be guided to configure your Windows 11 installation, until you arrive on the Windows 11 screen. You will immediately notice that Windows 11 is surprisingly free of any bloatware, no CandyCrush, Instagram or even TikTok!
Be careful though, it’s not over since Windows 11 is not yet fully functional, it is still necessary to configure the regional and currency format in French for everything to work correctly. Indeed, without it, you will not be able to use the Microsoft Store for example.
To do this, from the Windows 11 settings, select Time and language, then Language and region to finally go to the options ” Country or region » et « Regional format ” in French.
Now everything will work properly and even better since you will have a clean, smooth and minimalist Windows 11 installation ❤!
