The Undersecretary of the Ministry explained that the medical teams in the initiative have provided medical services to 103722 pregnant women in the governorate so far, noting that the initiative aims to reach a generation of children who are healthy and free of diseases transmitted from mother to fetus, and to reduce deaths resulting from these diseases, as the initiative aims Pregnant women from the first day of pregnancy until birth, for early detection of various infectious diseases transmitted from the mother to the fetus, including HIV infection, hepatitis B, and syphilis, as well as the detection of sugar and pressure for pregnant women, and measurement of the body mass index to determine The appropriate nutritional program and maintaining the ideal weight during pregnancy and postpartum, adding that follow-up and treatment services are provided through the medical centers and health units in the governorate, and those who are discovered to be infected are directed and referred to receive the necessary evaluation and treatment at the referral hospitals specified in the governorate, in addition to activating and improving the quality of routine services that Provided within the protocol for the care of pregnant women through maternal and child care services, indicating that the medical clinics and The examination locations, and the availability of medical supplies in them, stressing the medical teams’ privacy in the examination places, confidentiality of results, good treatment of women and a good reception for those reluctant to the presidential initiative.
“Masoud” added that the presidential initiative to support maternal and fetal health aims to medical examination for 157,736 pregnant and non-Egyptian women in the cities and villages of Sharkia Governorate, in the age group over 18 years, between education, awareness and medical examination, through a trained medical team on examination work from “” Physicians, nurses, data entry personnel, and rural pioneers.” The number of teams is 358 medical teams, with a number of 358 points.
