A creative three-day event dedicated to Easter customs was experienced by the children of the Lyceum of the Greeks of Patras on April 25, 26 and 27.
This year’s Easter activities, coordinated by the Ephorate of Holidays and Events in collaboration with the individual departments, aimed to revive in a direct and demonstrative way the popular and religious traditions of the great Christian holiday, offering the children another meaningful experience.
The children had the opportunity to paint and decorate red eggs, bake Easter cookies, learn regarding Easter customs and symbols, sing and dance Easter songs and tunes from our musical tradition.
Special moments for them were when they heard a folk tale regarding Saint George from the kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Dimitra Nikolopoulou, who specializes in telling folk tales, when they built, decorated and moved around in our space a replica of Epitaph under the guidance of the visual arts teacher Mrs. Maria Stergiopoulou and when they sang the carols of Lazarus to the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Patras Mr. Chrysostomos.
As they note: “How much joy they gave us with their enthusiasm and commitment during their participation, but also with their apt questions and comments!
May the Light of Resurrection always illuminate their path!
Happy Easter!
