Those who work on Easter days will be paid according to the day of work, as provided by the relevant legislation.
Thus, the following applies:
Easter Sunday:
- For Easter Sunday, the same applies as for the other Sundays, i.e. the work of employees is prohibited. Therefore, those employed on this day are entitled to the following:
- If they are paid by the day, they are entitled to receive the hourly wage paid for each hour of their work, plus 75% of the legal hourly wage. In the event that they work more than 5 hours, they are also entitled to a substitute rest, on another working day of the week.
- If they are paid a salary, they are entitled to receive as remuneration a 75% increase in the legal hourly wage, for the number of hours worked and a compensatory rest day. If no substitute rest day is given, they are entitled to receive as additional remuneration the hourly wage paid for each hour of employment. This fee will be calculated on the basis of the hourly wage paid, as compensation for the deprivation of compensatory rest.
Easter Monday
- Easter Monday is a mandatory holiday for all businesses. If the employer employs his staff, he owes the following:
- For those who are paid by the day, the paid hourly wage and an increase of 75% to their legal hourly wage are provided for as many hours as they are employed.
- To those who are absent from their work without justification while the business is legally operating on holidays, neither a daily wage nor, of course, an increase is due.
- With regard to employees who are paid a monthly salary, if the company operates legally on official holidays, Sundays, etc., they are entitled to receive as a fee only a 75% increase to the legal hourly wage for all the hours they work. If the business was not operating again this year, exceptionally operating on Easter Monday, the employer will pay the 75% increase to the legal hourly wage for as many hours as they work and as many hourly wages as they work calculated on 1/25 of their paid salary.
The Ministry of Labor moved the Labor Day holiday to May 7.
