East Kowloon police cracked down on illegal double-lane parking and issued over 1,700 sheets of beef jerky

The Kowloon East Regional Traffic Department, together with officers from various police districts, yesterday (18th) cracked down on illegal parking at a number of traffic black spots in the district. Traffic violations such as goods, waiting for too long, and illegally entering yellow grids or pedestrian crossings and causing obstructions. During the operation, the police issued a total of 1,729 fixed penalty notices and multiple tickets for 28 illegal vehicles, and towed away 3 illegally parked vehicles.

Kowloon East Region will continue to crack down on major traffic violations to ensure smooth roads and the safety of road users. If a driver parks illegally, causing traffic jams or posing danger to other road users, the police will not only ticket the vehicle concerned many times and prosecute the driver, but may also tow the vehicle away. Police appeal to motorists not to park illegally for temporary convenience.
