The National Seismological Service reported that this followingnoon a magnitude 5.5 earthquake was recorded northeast of Crucecita, Oaxaca. Emergency systems evaluate possible damage following the earthquake.
The National Civil Protection Coordination indicated that following the earthquake, it maintains communication with state and municipal units of Civil Protection and members of the National Emergency Committee to carry out a preliminary evaluation of the area.

Earthquake did not merit alert activation: Sheinbaum
The head of government, Claudia Sheinbaumreported that the magnitude of the earthquake did not warrant the activation of the seismic alert in Mexico City, but the corresponding protocols were activated.
